It looks as if the upcoming weather might belie its emergence, but we know it’ s coming. Here at For the Stitcher's Soul we are looking at all things spring! Welcome back to the blog after a long hiatus. I hope you’ll follow along with me as I bring you all the stitching news of interest as well as information about classes, designer profiles, shop updates and what I hope to bring to the stitching community going forward.
This year I was happy to attend spring market in Nashville to see all the new charts, booklets, kits and fabrics being offered by designers. It was a wonderful (even if exhausting) experience. I returned with a lot of wonderful things to tempt those of you looking for something brand new to you as a stitcher, or the current offerings from your own favorite designer(s).Â
I am also taking on some personal "adult education" -Â a zoom class with Donna Olsen from Wisconsin. Donna teaches Hardanger lessons and this is something I plan to offer you in the future. 22 count Hardanger cloth is already in the shop ( or you could use 25 ct Lugana- also available in shop). I am enjoying work on my beginning piece.
My Hardanger piece in progress.
Â
Speaking of Lugana, I have brought in Easy Grid Lugana cloth for those who enjoy full coverage pieces and like the ease the pre-gridded fabric affords them.
Â
Also coming soon to the shop are punch needle supplies and Weaver’s Cloth. The Spring edition of Punch Needle & Primitive Stitcher Magazine is already here and is chock full of fabulous designers from Stitching with the Housewives, Hello From Liz Mathews and bonus content from Vonna Pfeiffer ( The Twisted Stitcher) and Lisa Bernerette of Happy Cat Stitchery& Wickery.
Â
Other shop offerings of note are the 2022 Ornament of the Month, the 2022 Stitch- Along- of the Month for you Gnome lovers, our monthly Thread Club and a quarterly subscription box which will hold a wonderful surprise project for your stitching pleasure. You will receive everything you need to complete your project including a piece of hand dyed by me fabric. Our last subscription box project was certain to please all the bird lovers out there:
The first subscription box for 2022

Up Coming Classes
I will be offering a needle roll class via zoom. There are still a couple of seats open so call the shop if you are interested. Kits are from Shepherd’s Bush and you have a choice between the Stitcher’s Roll or Shepard Roll. Both have everything you need to complete the stitching and I will instruct you on the specialty stitches needed, and the final construction of your needle roll. Dates for the class are April 27th or May 4th . A zoom link will be sent to your email.
Back by popular demand will be a Biscornu class coming up in June. Keep an eye on the shop calendar for future classes. Remember, I am always willing to hear suggestions as to what you might like to learn going forward!
I am also busy designing a little shop exclusive for you- meet Hoppy!Â
